We are bringing back the popular agent roundtables where writers with finished manuscripts will have the opportunity to read their first pages to an agent and a small group of writers. The 2014 Northern Colorado Writers Conference two full days of sessions, rountables, meals and networking. The events kicks off Friday morning at 10:30 with three 2-hour sessions to pick from. Sessions end at 5:30 where we then move into our cocktail hour, dinner, Keynote Speech by Chuck Sambuchino. Then Saturday is jam-packed with sessions, roundtables and lots of great learning and connecting with other writers.
NCW is thrilled to have Chuck Sambuchino back as the 2014 Keynote Speaker. Chuck is an editor for Writer’s Digest Books, a bestselling humor book writer, and a freelance editor. In this popular workshop, Teresa will teach you how to develop an ear for dialogue, with special emphasis on using dialogue to reveal character and propel your story forward. Through listening and writing exercises, you'll learn how to "hear" when your dialogue is working and when it isn't. We'll also discuss pacing, tag lines, dialect and accents, humor, and most importantly, how to tighten your exchanges so every word counts.
