Dear [FIRSTNAME],

Happy New Year! The start of a new year is always a great time to set writing goals for the year. The system I found most effective is to come up with a few big goals for the year, then set some monthly goals geared toward your overall goals and then each week make a plan that includes the action steps you will take to reach the monthly goals. By breaking it down, you will not be overwhelmed with what you are trying to accomplish and are more likely to reach your goals.

The 7th annual Northern Colorado Writers Conference is just around the corner. In its seventh year, the Northern Colorado Writers Conference is the premiere writer’s conference in the region bringing in agents, editors and presenters from all over the country. In order to provide the highest level of personal experience for each participant the 2012 conference attendance accommodates 125 writers and 15 presenters. The event caters to writers of all levels and genres. Don't miss it.  For more information CLICK HERE.

We are hosting the Top Of The Mountain Book Award writing contest in conjuction with the conference for an unpuplished work of fiction and nonfiction. READ MORE

Registration for our winter classes has also begun. I am really excited about the lineup for this session. We kick it all off with Trai Cartwright's 8-week Screenwriting 1 class. This one-of-a-kind master class will cover everything from formatting basics like narrative and dialogue to character and structure arcs. Best of all -- you'll write the first 30 pages of your script and have it workshopped in class.

To learn more about Trai's class and the other ones being offer at the NCW Studio visit the website and click on the Upcoming Classes button.

I hope to see you at the conference or at a NCW class soon.

Happy Writing!
