Karye writes her Sophie Mae Reynolds Home Crafting Mysteries under the name Cricket McRae. The fifth in the series was released in July of 2011 to good reviews. The sixth in the series, Deadly Row to Hoe, will release in November of 2012.

She also writes the Magical Bakery Mysteries under the name Bailey Cates. The first one, Brownies and Broomsticks, releases May of 2012.

Please check out her website, www.cricketmcrae.com for information about both series, events, etc. Or stop by her blogs, www.hearthcricket.com and www.baileycates.com

After a variety of jobs including driver's license examiner, port of entry clerk, newspaper circulation manager, ad sales, software localization program manager, and purveyor of handmade toiletries, she turned her attention to writing full time. In addition to her home crafting mysteries, she also writes creative nonfiction under her own name.

In 2007 she returned to Fort Collins, where she studied philosophy and English at CSU in the 1980s, and fits her interest in all things domestic around writing, hiking, biking and, currently, learning how to hate the game of golf.
