Our mission is to create a supportive and encouraging community where writers can inspire one another to become successful authors. NCW is composed of novelists, journalists, memoirists, poets, screenwriters, bloggers, children's book writers, and many more. We embrace diversity regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or race as we believe our individual backgrounds, perspectives, and passions help us create the stories we tell. We invite you to become a member of our community as you pursue your personal literary goals.
History of Northern Colorado Writers
Northern Colorado Writers is the brainchild of Fort Collins freelance writer and book author Kerrie Flanagan. It began in 2006. Kerrie discovered a strong writing community in Northern Colorado, but there wasn't anything bringing these writers together. With the help of best-selling children's author Debbie Dadey, the first Northern Colorado Writers Conference (NCWC) was held in March of 2006 at the Armstrong Hotel in downtown Fort Collins with LeAnn Thieman as the keynote speaker.
Through newsletters, meetings, retreats, classes, and the annual conference, NCW helps provide members with the tools, resources, support, and encouragement for a successful writing life.
NCW offers a variety of membership options. Click here to become a member. For all questions concerning membership, such as available benefits, your online profile, etc., please contact our Membership Coordinator.
Northern Colorado Writers is now under the direction of Amy Rivers, author and longtime member of NCW, who plans to continue building upon the solid foundation Kerrie and April have built for writers of all levels and genres.
Feel free to contact Amy with any questions or comments.
