Check out these great writing events in Fort Collins happening on a recurring basis.
Bean Cycle Poetry Slam -- First Friday
On the first Friday of every month visit the Bean Cycle where you can listen to or share your own spoken word. For the last 12 years, the event has been hosted by Larry “Booger” Holgerson. The Rocky Mountain Collegian says “this accepting social poetry environment is a great place to meet poets and reach a larger audience."
DimeStories -- 2nd Wednesday
DimeStories is an open mic event where writers share their 3-minute stories--fact or fiction. Writers can sign up to read at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:00 PM. Authors of all experience levels are welcome to sign up and read. Friendly audience, appreciative of the writing work you do… Bring a friend, bring a story (okay to just listen). DimeStories Fort Collins is affiliated with DimeStories International. Events are held each month in San Diego and Costa Mesa, Calif. and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Fort Collins Chapter event is hosted by Amanda Martinek. For more information about DimeStories, visit http://dimestories.org/
Shutup & Write! -- Every Wednesday
Join Molly McCowan of Inkbot Editing at Wolverine Farm Letterpress & Publick House for an hour of writing! Space is limited, so please reserve your seat by RSVPing on Meetup. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, poem, or just plain work stuff, you’re invited to write it with everyone. No one will see what you’ve written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. Information.
The Writer Collective -- 2nd Sunday
Are you a writer looking to connect with your tribe? Drop by Wolverine Farm Letterpress & Publick House and open your notebooks and your computer files and use this time to write your next chapter, your new poem, or send out work to magazines or publishers. Join us every second Sunday from 1:30-4:00 to guzzle a beer, sip wine or coffee, and even share your work with fellow tribe members.
